Grade 'A' Hospital Safety ScoresOnslow Memorial earned an 'A' grade six consecutive times in the Spring 2015, Fall 2015, Spring 2016, Fall 2016, Spring 2017 and Fall 2017 Hospital Safety Score national rankings. The Hospital Safety Score is the gold standard rating for patient safety in areas such as errors, injuries, accidents, and infections, compiled under the guidance of the nation’s leading patient safety experts. Vascular Testing Accredited FacilityOnslow Memorial has been granted a three-year term of accreditation by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) in Vascular Testing in the areas of Peripheral Arterial Testing, Peripheral Venous Testing, and Extracranial Cerebrovascular Testing. MaternityOnslow Memorial Hospital is proud to be one of the top of hospitals that have reduced the state’s early elective delivery (EED) rate from 4% of births to just 1%, according to the NC Quality Center, an affiliate of the North Carolina Hospital Association. In fact, OMH’s EED delivery rate is now at 0%. Onslow is one of four hospitals specially recognized this year by the North Carolina Virginia Hospital Collaborative. While we are proud we surpassed the Collaborative’s goal (the greatest decrease in NICU admissions of term newborns in a high volume hospital among the collaborative), the real winners are mothers, babies and our community.
