Pathology

The pathology laboratory at Onslow Memorial plays a vital role in patient care. Our pathologists use scientific applications to analyze blood, tissue and other samples to identify and evaluate diseases. Their tests help to diagnose or rule out diseases, as well as monitor the progression or regression of diseases. Their results help physicians make critical decisions regarding treatment plans.

Fully accredited by the College of American Pathologists, the Onslow Memorial Hospital laboratory assists physicians with diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of medical conditions. Directed by experienced, board-certified pathologists, the lab staff also includes certified medical technologists, medical laboratory technicians, cytotechnologists and phlebotomists.

The hospital’s full-service lab offers comprehensive inpatient screenings, tissue studies, cytology and testing
24 hours a day, seven days a week. All outpatient services and specimen collection are handled at
the hospital’s satellite office, Onslow Diagnostics, located at 200 Memorial Drive.
